Custom Building Products is currently interviewing for two Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician’s. This position will be at our California, Bell Plant. The technician will be responsible for the Preventative and Predictive Maintenance of our manufacturing plant / facility. Core Duties / Responsibilities

  1. Under minimal supervision, provide preventative and predictive  Through demonstrated proficiency in mechanical powered transmission of electrical apparatuses with working knowledge of PLC’s / electrical controls and software systems.
  2. Always Execute Lock Out / Tag Out procedures.
  3. Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and instructions
  4. Completing comprehensive preventative maintenance work order procedures daily.
  5. Poses the skilled experience and ability to trouble shoot and repair material handling systems, Robotics, compressors, pressured air blowers, pneumatics, vacuums, conveyors (belt, chain, and rollers) Pumps (paste, liquid, chemicals, ETC.), Hydraulics, scales, mixers, presses, variable frequency drives, servo’s, gear boxes, shafts, etc.
  6. Maintain the servicing and repairing of all utilities / facilities equipment. Air conditioning units, Plumbing (water, gas, piping), General Electric, plant lighting, etc.
  7. Fabrication of equipment and safeguarding repairs and upgrades (welding mig, arch etc..).
  8. Performing daily inventory regarding parts and materials needed for repairs and projects.
  9. This position will also work on capital expense / new installation projects, etc. Must be responsible for ensuring that each job is performed safely, efficiently, and to existing local codes to meet, maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant.
  10. Drive continuous improvement and implement safety procedures daily.

Recommended Skills

  • PLC knowledge and programming abilities including software experience.
  • Strong electrical controls trouble shooting, diagram readings and blueprint layout & installation of electrical conduit, wire sizing, networking, and controlled devices.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills to repair and maintain fast-paced production lines.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • 5 years of related applicable experience in a heavy industrial environment experienced with electrical / mechanical and with mixing and conveying equipment.
  • Excellent fabricating skills and able to read blueprints.
  • High school degree or equivalent & excellent math skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of standard maintenance practices, methods, hand tools, shop equipment.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and possesses experience with OSHA safety training.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Positive attitude, Good and effective communication skills.
  • Position shift requires flexibility and working alternating shifts, 1st, 2nd and third.
  • Must be available to work overtime and with short notice when needed.
  • Must be available for callback problems if they occur.
  • Abide by all requirements, policies, work procedures, safety rules and detailed instructions.
